Purchase Ledger Supervisor

The opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join the Swansway Family. 

Reporting into the Dealership Accountant, you will supervise and support our Purchase ledger Clerks. Looking after the Purchase ledger across the group Dealerships. 

As a Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting, coaching and developing the Purchase ledger team. Building and maintaining positive and lasting relationships with external suppliers, key Stake holders and internal operations. 

More about the role

• Supporting Purchase ledger assistants across various Dealership sites.

• Support and training individuals, through both 121 and group coaching sessions. 

• Supervise and allocate workload across team members

• Ensure team members follow business processes.

• Overseeing the processing of supplier invoices. 

• Ensuring invoices are correctly coded to departments (Sales, Service, Parts, Bodyshop, etc.). 

• Prepare payment runs on a large scale.

• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies. 

• Managing month-end purchase ledger close activities.

• Maintain accurate accounts and to ensure suppliers are paid in set timeframes. 

• Manage cash flow and report on individual Dealership spend.

• Present accurate and concise reporting and data to DA. 

• Assist with intercompany reconciliations. 

• Ensure GRNI is managed to a acceptable level. 

More about you

Purchase ledger experience – 3-5 years.

Supervisory experience within purchase ledger – 2 years minimum.

Leadership and development skills. 

Excellent computer skills – including Excel formulas. 

Ability to hand large invoice amounts 

System knowledge in Sage & Kerridge OR Key loop (Very advantageous) 

Purchase ledger of muti site organisation. 

Advantageous but not essential:

Motor vehicle or automotive industry experience.
